Roxy is a sweet, senior girl who has lots of love to give. Senior dogs are wonderful, gentle companions - and she is no exception! We don't have a lot of history on our Roxy girl, other than she is from West Virginia. She is at least 10 years old, and somewhere along the way in her lifetime, her rear leg has come out of the hip socket. She has acclimated to this deformity and uses her leg for balance. Roxy gets around pretty darn well, despite her disability. She loves to go for walks. She's very fast and she will scoot through an open door to go exploring, so you'll want to keep an eye on her! She does better on carpet, since she tends to slip a bit on non-carpeted floors. She cannot jump up or off of furniture (a bonus if you prefer your dogs not to!). She can definitely handle stairs, as long as she's not rushing. Roxy is a sweet girl. She is completely house trained. She barks if she would like to go outside, just one or two quick barks. She whines if she feels it's dinner time and she eats well. She has a variety of dog beds and she rotates between them. Roxy does well with the foster family's dogs and cats. She doesn't interact much with them so she would do fine in a home with other animals, or in a home without them. She is a good listener, and will stop barking immediately when told NO! Roxy is a healthy girl besides her known leg issue - she has had dental care in the past and no other known problems Because of her age and frailty, a quiet home without children would be preferable. She would make an excellent companion dog for someone that would just like to have a reason to take small walks throughout the day. Do you have room in your heart to give this sweet, disabled girl a home? Inquire about Roxy today! Please watch her great video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NjCqZsFM3M&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR1OnhdVhC3_VHJ-Gsa3SNbnuGWE9uMx-aWRHRnU2Hca9E83rRQtem5ZMLQ Adoption Fee is $350 She is up to date on vaccines and has had a wellness exam, heartworm tested, fecal test, and micro-chipped. Sierra is a sweet girl who is blossoming into a lovable, fun puppy! Sierra loves to snuggle, enjoys belly rubs, and plays nicely with toys. She also loves to be outside and run around in the backyard. She is learning to walk on a leash with the help of a harness. Sierra is approximately 5-6 months old. Like all puppies, she is fine-tuning her house training skills. She will go potty outside when you take her and is consistently using puppy pads in the house. Sierra doesn't seem to be interested in chewing on anything other than toys (whew!). She is working on her puppy manners, including not barking at new people (it's an emerging skill). And, she has already learned to sleep nicely in her crate at night (score!). Inquire about Sierra today! Adoption Fee is $350 with Spay/Neuter Contract. A separate $100 deposit will be collected but will be returned after we receive the spay/neuter certificate for your puppy at 6 months of age. Applications are required prior to meeting the puppy. Chevel is a smart, lovable dog who is looking for a new family to love her - could that be you? Chevel is a very open dog, warming up to people fairly quickly. She loves to be near your side and will come to you often, looking for love and reassurance. If you are on the computer, she will lay at your feet. If you're in the kitchen, she will be there, too. This is a dog that will be your best friend. Chevel loves to play with toys and chew on bones, and gets along well with other dogs. She is housebroken, and will settle down nicely at night - but prefers to sleep on the recliner, thank you very much. Chevel would likely do best in a house where someone is home the majority of the day - perhaps a retiree, or a SAHM, or a homeschooling environment. She just wants to be near people all the time. When she first got to her foster mom's house, she was a little anxious when left alone and would bark and pace until her mom came back. Now that she's more comfortable there, though, she has quieted down nicely and is learning to be left alone without needing to bark. She's just a PEOPLE person - who can blamer her? People are FUN - they throw toys, pet her, and feed her. Could you be her new person? Inquire about Chevel today! Adoption Fee is $350 She is up to date on vaccines and has had a wellness exam, heartworm tested, fecal test, and micro-chipped. Applications are required before meeting a dog. He's a smart boy, so he'll have it mastered very soon! Henry loves to go on car rides, and he loves to chew bones and toys. Kermit is an adult Collie / Lab mix. He is 50 pounds of pure love. Kermit is fully house broken and a good listener. He loves treats and is very treat motivated. Kermit is a professional snuggler and is happiest just being near people. He loves to lean his head on your leg if you are standing, or rest his face on your lap if you are sitting. He doesn’t try to get on furniture but will snuggle right up to you if you lay on the floor with him. He is very mellow dog and would do best with someone who likes to take shorter walks. He does well with other dogs, kids and cats. Kermit is visually impaired and sees with his heart. We are not sure how much he can see but once he scopes out an area, you wouldn’t know he couldn’t see as well as other dogs. Due to his vision issues, he can struggle a bit on stairs, especially inside the home. For this reason, he would do best in a home with minimal stairs. He seems to do just fine on the backyard stairs coming off his foster's deck, for whatever reason. Kermit also has a little bit of arthritis in his rear hips but currently functions fine without any medication. Kermit is looking for a forever home and will be a loving companion to a lucky person. Where ever we go, people are drawn to Kermit. He is the sweetest dog with the cutest ears. He is a perfect dog for someone looking for a mellow companion. Disclaimer: Be prepared to fall in love as soon as you meet Kermit! Esmee is a sweet, affectionate and playful dog. She loves to be by her foster mom's side, and especially loves to play with her outdoors. She is very loyal and loves nothing more than snuggling at the end of a long day. Esmee's love for the outdoors is never more evident than when she hears her foster mom getting the leash ready. She loves to go for walks, or run around in a yard. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard, because she is a fast runner and plays very hard. Esmee would do best in a home without cats, as she has strong tracking instincts. She can be distracted on walks by birds and cats, and just needs a little nudge to keep walking and stay on track. Her interaction with other dogs has been limited, so we're not sure how she gets along with other dogs. She was very calm during transport among other dogs, so it's likely she could interact well with them. Esmee is crate trained and enters with a simple command “in” without issues. She knows some other basic commands and has been developing these skills. She is motivated by love and praise vs. treats. For this reason, she makes a good student! Esmee is an awesome companion and would be a wonderful addition to a family with children or adults who have lots of love and energy to share with a furry snuggle buddy. Adoption Fee is $350 She is up to date on vaccines and has had a wellness exam, heartworm tested, fecal test, and micro-chipped. Applications are required before meeting a dog. Momo was an owner surrender when his people moved. He lived his life in a basement and at 8 years old is learning how to be apart of a home. Momo doesn't like his face touched, so no children. Using treats, he slowly has accepted his foster's hands nearer to his face and he tries very hard to not to nip. Momo was full of tangles and mats so his loving foster Beth has slowly been removing them and getting him back to his beautiful Shih Tzu look. Momo currently lives with multiple small dogs and cats and does fine if they do not crowd him. He would prefer to be your only love and is very devoted to his foster. He follows close by and is never far from her. Momo loves to play with toys and walk outside. He is very quiet but will bark to get your attention if you have given him a time out:) We are looking for a very patient and understanding adapter for Momo. At 8 years old, he just hasn't been given the skills to be the perfect companion, but he has won the heart of his foster and he will win yours too if given a chance. He has a little muzzle that helps when going for grooming or vet visits. He is house trained as long as you remember to put him out. He loves to be carried and cuddled. If you are interested in a little challenge, Momo would love to shower you with affection! Adoption Fee to be determined.
