Dear Friends,
Greetings! It's been a while since we last contacted you. We have been very busy with our rescue and a lot has happened since our last note to you on Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, we have undergone an unexpected and significant loss in our volunteer staff who support the rehoming of our dogs. We are also currently in need of many more foster families to care for our pups in transition. In all honesty, the last few months have been a tremendous struggle for us. We have been stretched very thin, trying to do everything we normally do for our pups, but with fewer people and resources. Fundraising has also been substantially affected by our circumstances, that's one of the reasons you haven't heard from us in a while. This has had a big impact on our operations and operating budget.
We are still rehoming needy adoptable dogs as best we can, and we still have a deep passion for our mission, but we need your support now more than ever to help us continue what we've been doing for the last nearly 10 years, that is giving adoptable dogs a chance at a new life in a loving home. Your support is needed in a number of ways. |

Funding
Your generous contributions to our nonprofit rescue are essential to our existence and to the performance of our mission, saving adoptable dogs from euthanasia or even worse outcomes. Adoption fees only cover a fraction of the costs involved in rehoming our pups. Your contributions go toward shelter, food, veterinary costs, training and behavior modification, transports, and all the other numerous expenses associated with running a no-kill dog rescue. We are an IRS accredited 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity registered with Maryland's Secretary of State Charitable Organizations Division and all of your contributions to us are tax deductible. We are making this plea today for your financial support, whatever you are able to give! If there's a warm spot in your heart for the welfare of these deserving animals, please consider showing your love with a generous donation today. Some lucky dog's life will be changed forever!

Foster Families
Foster families are the cornerstone of our canine rehoming philosophy. Foster homes give dogs and pups a wonderful and loving environment to prepare for transition into their permanent homes. We also feel that living with a family gives our rescue pups the added advantage of adapting to family life with caring humans prior to being adopted out. If you are in the Central Maryland, D.C., Northern Virginia, or Delaware area, please consider fostering one of our pups in your home. It will not only serve our rescue dog well, it will be a fantastic experience for you and your family!

Volunteer!
Whatever your talent, gift, skill, or interest is, there is a volunteer opportunity waiting for you! As incredibly important as our foster families are, and they truly are, without our volunteers, the organization would simply cease to function. Our volunteers are what makes Canine Humane Network what it is, a community devoted to the welfare of rescued canines and their adopters. If you're good with writing, graphics, software, spreadsheets, IT management, communications, policy, public relations, fundraising, or if you enjoy walking dogs for that essential exercise, there's a place for you here. All we ask is that you bring a loving, caring spirit with you when you join us, and that you contribute your gift in a positive and uplifting way. That's what the great big heart in our logo is all about!

Without a doubt it is your gift that both Canine Humane Network and our pups need to survive and to thrive. And we especially need your supporting gift right now! Don't delay! There's no time to lose! |

We're looking forward to hearing from you and we encourage you to consider volunteering or fostering with us. It is a genuinely fulfilling and satisfying experience, and a very worthy cause. |

From all of us here at Canine Humane Network, we are deeply grateful for your support and we look forward to your new or continued involvement in our CHN Community. Thank you! |
