What is Control Unleashed?
The Control Unleashed program is based on the books by Leslie McDevitt. Originally designed to help dogs learn how to relax, focus, and work reliably off-leash, CU uses “conversational” training to build a solid foundation of life skills.
What will you learn?
We will incorporate CU foundation behaviors that teach your dog how to relax and focus, pattern games that will help your dog learn to cope with unfamiliar or overstimulating environments, and set up parallel games that will show you how to utilize these techniques in the real world. Through the program you will learn how to understand and empower your dog, and your dog will learn to make good behavioral choices.
How does it work?
This 5-week class will incorporate online learning of the concepts to be used during the outdoor classes at Canine Humane Network. Participants will be assigned new skills to work on each week at home before applying those skills in a group class setting. They will have access to handouts, video demonstrations, and an optional weekly Zoom meeting for Q&As. We will meet outside at CHN on Saturdays for class.
