Basic Manners (Wednesday)

Build a strong training foundation

Basic Manners class is focused on refining basic manners while emphasizing your relationship and communication with your pup.  This class will also expand your tool kit as an owner with ways to positively curb unwanted behaviors.  Here, you will refresh and perfect your pup’s basic manners such as here, sit, down as well as leash manners.  New commands, or refined manners, such as calming mat time, extended sit-stays, and down-stays bringing distractions, in for a well-focused and happy pup.  A couple of fun tricks will be taught as well important commands like leave it, back, and stand will be brought into the fun.  Basic classes are taught with positive reinforcement and building a beneficial cooperative relationship between you and your pup.

Duration: 7 weeks (10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, and 11/16)

Location: 13454 Clarksville Pike, Highland, MD 20777 – Basement Training Room

Special Requirements: Proof of veterinary visit & 2 distemper vaccines

Health policy: All dogs must be up to date on rabies vaccinations and other vaccinations or titered.  After registering for this class, please email a copy of your dog’s vaccination records to us at info@caninehumane.org.

Our policy: Classes cannot be exchanged for other classes or private instruction and no refunds are given after class begins.  Only people friendly and dog friendly dogs are accepted for group classes.  Clients with dogs that are reactive to adults, children or other dogs should opt for private training and should also consider a session to provide  management and behavior behavior modification programs.
